December 11th, 2007 - Meet Edward!

qCongratulations to British actor Robert Pattinson on winning the coveted role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight movie! It was just announced today on Stephenie Meyer's website. Pattinson is well known for his role as Cedric Diggory in the last two Harry Potter movies.

Here at the TwiNex, we are incredibly pleased! Tons of names were thrown around of handsome and talented actors (some not posessing both traits), so we are happy to learn that a both gorgeous and talented young man will be trusted to portray our favorite man, Edward Cullen.

Hopefully more casting announcements will be made soon. I know we're all eager to see who will play Alice, Jacob, Carlisle, etc. Stay tuned!

Check out what the actor's fans are saying at their respective fan websites:

Cheers,

Hart

November 16th , 2007 - Meet Bella!

They've cast Bella! It's a surprise because Emily Browning did not, after all, get the part. This coveted roll has gone to the TALENTED Kristen Stewart:

q

Of course we loved Emily Browning as a candidate, but this is a GREAT alternative. I think she will do a fabulous job as Bella. To read the official press release click here.

If you want to see Kristen Browning prove her acting skills, I strongly recommend renting her movie Speak, which was based on a teen novel by Laurie Halse Anderson (a great book, read it!)

So we consider this news of the first actor cast in Twilight as great news! Congrats to Kristen Anderson on her new role!

Congrats to Stephenie Meyer as well for gaining what I believe is one of Hollywood's most talented younger actresses for her beloved character, Bella.

Stephenie herself seems pleased with the movie's pre-production status at the moment, saying, "Summit's vision of the Twilight movie continues to dovetail very closely with mine, and I'm comforted to know that my "baby" is in the right hands."

Yay! We're comforted too!

On another topic, it's getting too tedious and time consuming to delete all the spamming robot jerks who register for the boards. Luckily, they can't post if I don't activate them. Unfortunately, this means you might not make it through the cracks when I activate the new registrants. Please shoot me a quick email when you register to speed up your account activation.

November 4th , 2007 - Twilight movie is on its way!

It's been a long time since I've updated the website - but after the release of Eclipse, things in the Twilight world have died down a little. Stephenie is wrapping up her touring, and probably working very hard on one of her up-coming novels. 2008 is going to be a big year with the release of The Host, Breaking Dawn, AND the impending production of the Twilight movie! I'm welcoming 2008 with much excitement and anticipation :)

We've added a Twilight Movie page to the TwiNex, but I'll just say it here: imdb.com has listed Emily Browning as a possible Bella! I've seen actors listed as "rumored" drop off the list before, so don't count on it. But, that is saying that it's a definite possibility. I'm sure Emily Browning herself knows about the movie by now; and, personally, I believe she'd make a perfect Bella. Not only is she one of the actors Stephenie Meyer hand picked, but this EB quote kinda sums it all up:

"I'm not going to do a pop album anytime soon. I'm not going to dye my hair blonde and wear pink mini-skirts." - Emily Browning

That just screams of Bella to me.

September 13th, 2007 - Happy Birthday Bella!

Not only is it Stephenie Meyer Day in Forks, WA, it's also Bella's birthday! Stephenie Meyer's Eclipse Tour is winding down to an end with only 3 stops left!

Eclipse has also helped the Twilight Saga reach it's 4th week on the New York times Bestsellers list. Like the Harry Potter series, Stephenie Meyer's books are now on the Bestselling Series list rather than the Bestselling Children's Chapter Books. For those of you who haven't noticed yet, Stephenie has posted quite a few Eclipse FAQs on her website- but beware, Eclipse spoilers may be lurking!

One last bit of fun news- there's going to be a brand new CONTEST starting NEXT WEEK at the Twilight Nexus! The prize is G-R-E-A-T so stay tuned!!!

August 22nd, 2007 - Stephenie's Book Signing Tour

The time has finally come, Stephenie Meyer is touring the country promoting her newest Twilight series release, Eclipse! Last night Stephenie was in Hart's hometown, so read about it at her blog.

As promised, I put together the scrapbook for Stephenie with all the submissions you sent in! It was very successful and turned out well. I'm no expert scrapbooker but your letters, fanart, poems, and pictures made it really special! I'll post some photos of the finish projet- which had over 30 pages & tons of letters from YOU guys! Thanks to everyone who participated and even the members who opted not to- you're all valued members here.

This week I also promise to have to pictures and videos from the signing last night. Stick with us!

QUIZZES ARE BACK! Well, only a couple, so far. But I'll be adding more all the time. Check these ones out:

August 15th , 2007 - Media & The Host

Stephenie Meyer is featured in the new People magazine for the week peoplemagof August 20th. The front page of the books section is devoted to Stephenie, and features a picture of her and her sons with an article that speaks of this summer's other big sequel (referring to the Harry Potter release). Go check it out at your local newstand!

In "off-topic" news, The Host cover has been revealed onhostAmazon.com! The Host is Stephenie Meyer's new book that is not related to the Twilight series. It is an adult fiction in the sci-fi category. The Host will be released inthe spring of 2008 and we'repretty interested to see how this book will do, seeing as it's totally different from the Twilight books. But with Stephenie Meyer's style, it's sure to be a hit!

August 8th , 2007 - Eclipse is a hit!

Congrats to Stephenie and everyone who worked really hard getting this book into our hands so quickly!

So much has happened over the past 24 hours that I don't know where to start...

Okay, first, Eclipse was released yesterday! Now we just have to wait and see how many weeks this book will spend on the New York Times Bestsellers list. Ha! Go read my blog about it what yesterday was like for me, buying and reading Eclipse (No spoilers) .

Secondly, there is a new version of the official TwilightNovel.com site and it's really cool! It's called The Twilight Saga and it's official. New features include:

Discussion Boards
A Gallery than you can be in
Playlists from Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse that you can actually listen to right there
Plus, polls, downloads, event info and much more.

It's basically a much more complete official site! And if you hurry, maybe you can snag a free Team Edward or Team Jacob t-shirt!

Finally, for those of you who missed the Good Morning America interview with Stephenie Meyer, you can view it here.

Spoiler warnings are in effect for the forums! Please not that there will be spoilers showing up as more and more fans finish Eclipse. Please be kind and label all spoilers so that those wishing to not be spoiled can steer clear. Thanks!

Cheers, Hart

(PS- If you've been to Stephenie Meyer's website in the past few days, you've probably noticed some issues with page loading and missing images. Not to worry, it appears to be just a problem with bandwidth, which is why it's happening now, amidst all the Eclipse release chaos. Try refreshing or visiting later.)

August 6th , 2007 - Well, almost!

I am so elated right now for two reasons. First, Eclipse will be sold all over the country in less than 8 hours! Secondly, despite all the upsetting drama about the Barnes & Noble shipping errors, the Twilight Nexus remained open and spoiler free!

I am so proud of all of our members right now. I've always adored you guys, and I will vouch for you anyday. And even though there were a few members who did recieve Eclipse early, we had ZERO spoiler incidents! From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

For those of you who will join us on the forums for Eclipse discussions, please remember to warn people about spoilers by posting topics labeled "SPOILER: (enter non-spoiler topic)" so that those of us who haven't read or finished the novel yet can keep ourselves spoiler-free.

Now we settle in for one last night Eclipse-less and I wish everyone luck tomorrow as we are once again gifted with a masterpiece from Stephenie Meyer!

Cheers, Hart
